Mads Edinger (b. 1996)
“Perspective in Flow”, 2024. Signed on the reverse. Acrylic on canvas. 70×50 cm. Unframed.
The Danish artist Mads Edinger (b. 1996) lives and works in Copenhagen, Denmark. Edinger is a self- taught visual artist specializing in the figurative realm. Through his practice, Edinger explores the connection between human actions, nature, animals, and their behaviors. In his exploration, he incorporates references from both contemporary and classical art periods. Within his works, Edinger celebrates imperfections and the imperfect, rendering his pieces raw and aesthetic. It's important for him not to create something so close to reality that a camera could fulfill the task. He believes that the essence of painting lies in creating its own narrative, evoking different intuitions in different viewers, while some may notice internal and underlying references in the composition. He describes his own universe as a place where unconventional thoughts we'd rather avoid become reality. The work delves into our ability to adapt and flow with nature and the world.
